Solid State Valve Power Supply Project - Finished Unit         All photos copyright John Mills, last updated 27 Dec 2009 After rebuilding the power unit after the failures mentioned in the initial construction section, the power supply is so far proving very reliable and I am planning to expand it's capabilities to allow a plug in valve testing unit, also a simple unit to allow reforming of old electrolytic capacitors. Watch these pages for further ideas. Not much more to say here, so I have put various thumbnails on here of the working unit, click on them to view bigger pictures.   Lastly, I would also like to draw attention to the finish of the end plates of the case. I had these specially finished in a superb black crackle powder coat finish which compares very well to the paint finishes found on older valve equipment circa the 1950's. I have tried to show the finish with the following pictures, but it is difficult to do the finish justice with pictures. If you are interested in having some equipment finished in this way, contact Inta-Nations who are the people who kindly helped me. Various colours are available, along with differing levels of "crackle". Be warned though that this is not cheap !
